The Country Radio Broadcasters (CRB) has unveiled the lineup for the New Faces of Country Music® Show at CRS 2025.

This year’s showcase will feature performances by Drew Baldridge (Lyric Ridge/BMG/Stoney Creek), Ashley Cooke (Big Loud/Back Blocks), Dasha (Warner Records), Zach Top (Leo33), and Warren Zeiders (Warner Records).

American Country Countdown host Kix Brooks is leaving the show he has hosted for 18 years to concentrate on his other gig, Brooks & Dunn. Brooks’ final broadcast will air the weekend of Dec. 28-29. KPLX/Dallas morning host Ryan Fox will take over in 2025, according to Country Aircheck. The show is broadcast on about 300 radio stations.

Garth Brooks announced on Thursday that he is launching a global country music station called The Big 615. The goal is to represent “country music across the entire planet,” the country star said from a press conference in Nashville. He’s hoping that long-term it will inspire global artists to enter the country music space, citing a future where a non-US artist is up for an Academy of Country Music Award.

In a surprising turn of events, Ford Motor Company has decided to backtrack on its plans to eliminate AM radio from newer model vehicles.

The company’s decision comes in response to mounting pressure from Congress and the introduction of a bill advocating for the inclusion of AM radio in all new vehicles, proposed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This move showcases the power of public opinion and the vital role AM radio continues to play in our daily lives.

NASHVILLE-based internet audio channel GIMME RADIO will be shutting down, effective APRIL 29th, after six years of operation.

According to a report in the NASHVILLE BUSINESS JOURNAL, and an APRIL 10th “epitaph” blog post on MEDIUM from company CEO TYLER LENANE, the company’s revenues of $1 million a year were not sufficient to sustain the operation, which has six full-time employees. This despite generating $6 million from investors, including iHEARTMEDIA, in a funding round disclosed in late 2021.
